Michael A Geraghty was born in St Albans City, England, in 1952. Most of his career revolved around newspapers and magazines. He handled everything from sales and circulation to training and promotions, eventually becoming a director with major groups. Along the way, he even helped shape an instructor training course that universities later turned into proper postgraduate qualifications.

Writing stayed close to his heart the whole time. Back in the nineties, his poetry appeared in the International Library of Poetry book A Lasting Calm. Once he retired, he decided the time had finally come to write the novel he had always carried in his head.

Then, in June 2025, doctors told him he had stomach cancer. That news lit a fire under him. He worked hard to complete The Reaper – Blood Hymn, determined to see the story through no matter what.

These days, Michael lives quietly in Leicestershire with his wife Janice. Their daughter Michelle, a Powerlifting World Champion, lives nearby in the same county with her husband Steve. The book stands as his first novel, a piece of himself he refused to leave unfinished.
